Newborn Photographer in Milton Keynes

Hello, I'm Jitka Wenham, an award-winning newborn photographer based in the Medbourne area of Milton Keynes. I photograph newborns for families across Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas, including Northampton, Bedford, Buckingham and Luton.

Your new baby will only be this tiny for a short time. As they grow, you slowly forget their tiny toes and little button noses. A newborn photoshoot captures those first precious days, so you have beautiful memories to cherish for many years to come.

In 2025 I finished in the Top 10 of The Guild of Photographers' international newborn competition, one of the biggest photography competitions in the world. My work has also received a Silver Award at the ICON Awards (2024) and an award in the Children category at Click Masters (2024), and I was a finalist at the UK Photography Print Awards (2026).

I'm proud of every one of them, but what matters most to me is that my families love their images. Read more about why families choose me.

Your baby's safety comes first

Your baby's safety is my number one priority, above everything else, including getting the perfect photograph.

  • I have over 10 years of experience as a specialist newborn photographer and have safely handled and photographed hundreds of newborns in my studio.

  • I have trained with some of the most respected newborn photographers in the world, including Kelly Brown, Zanelle Walter, Sarah Wilkes, Tracy Willis, Gary Hill and Elli Cassidy.

  • I hold current first aid certification for newborns and children, which I refresh every year.

  • I am fully insured and a member of The Guild of Photographers and The Societies of Photographers.

  • Every pose I use has been learned through specialist training. For any pose where extra support is needed, I use a spotter or composite techniques.

  • After every photoshoot I disinfect all touch areas. All props are thoroughly cleaned, and all fabrics and outfits are washed after every use.

What to expect at your newborn session

My newborn photoshoots are relaxed and led by your baby. Here is how a session works:

A calm, warm studio. My studio in Medbourne, Milton Keynes, has been designed for newborns and young families. It is kept beautifully warm so your baby stays comfortable and settled, and there is lots of parking right outside.

No rushing. Sessions take between 2 and 4 hours. Your baby sets the pace, with plenty of time for feeding, nappy changes, cuddles and settling.

Everything is provided. I have a wide range of wraps, blankets, outfits, headbands and props. All you need to bring is nappies and plenty of feed.

Time for you to relax. There is comfortable seating for parents. Many parents tell me it is one of the most relaxing experiences they have had with their new baby.

Your finished images. Your final, fully edited images are ready between 2 and 4 weeks after your session.

When to book your newborn photoshoot

The best time to book is while you are still pregnant, ideally after your 20 week scan. Bookings are based on your due date, which reserves a space in my diary. When your baby arrives, earlier or later, just message or call me and we will set the exact date.

The best age for a newborn photoshoot is between 1 and 4 weeks old. At this age babies are still very sleepy and don't mind being gently moved and posed. Beautiful images can still be taken when your baby is a little older. They may simply be more alert, and some poses may not be possible.

Expecting? I would love to photograph your bump too. Find out about my maternity photoshoots.

What parents say

Jitka was amazing. We took our daughter for a photo shoot at 11 days old, being first time parents we were quite worried about her being unsettled and not sleeping through. Jitka made everything so perfect and easy for us, the room was set up specifically to soothe baby and Jitka was an absolute natural. Cannot recommend her enough, we will be returning for more photos once our daughter is a little older!
